Indiana Playwrights Circle in Your Inbox
Welcome to issue #5 of our occasional communication to keep you updated on IPC happenings. It ain’t fancy, but we promise to make it informative. Summer means FRINGE FEST for Indy’s theatre community, and we’ve got the scoop!
In this issue:
· TODAY: IPC large group meeting: Sunday, July 14 at UIndy, featuring Paige Scott
· Changes to Scene Night schedule
· Upcoming shows featuring IPC members & friends, including Fringe Fest picks!

enjoy this ep by Paige Scott. Hear from Paige at today’s large group meeting, and then go see enjoy this ep at IndyFringe Festival. Details about both events below.
TONIGHT: IPC large group meeting. Sunday, July 14 at 5:00 PM at the University of Indianapolis Studio Theatre. Featuring:
· Dr. Grant Williams, Assistant Professor of Theatre at the University of Indianapolis, who'll discuss UIndy's theatre programs and how local playwrights can take advantage of university offerings.
· Indy's own Paige Scott. Paige is an actor, singer, playwright, composer/lyricist, director, and performance artist. Her recent collaboration with KT Peterson, Razor Creek, was featured in the Iowa New Plays Workshop. Most notably, her Bronte-based musical J. Eyre was voted "Best Original Work" by Broadway World Indianapolis in 2018 and has been produced nationally. Paige will share her origin story and offer pearls of wisdom for the aspiring playwright.
· Participate in a writing exercise.
Plus, as always, there'll be time for networking and fun with our stellar community of local theatre artists. (Also: snacks. Because we love snacks.) Everyone is welcome! Please RSVP via Eventbrite if possible. If not, please just show up anyway—we’ll be glad to see you.
Folx, we’re making some changes to Scene Nights:
· In August, Scene Nights will happen twice a month, on the first and third Wednesdays only. (That’s Weds, Aug 7 & Weds, Aug 21). Between Fringe, back to school, and vacations, August is usually quite sparsely attended. We’ll revisit for September.
· The minimum number of writers is increasing from three to four. If we don’t get four writer RSVPs by Tuesday at 5:00 PM, we’ll cancel that week’s Scene Night. Writers, please remember to let Rick know you’re coming by Tuesday. Reach him at [email protected] or at our group addy [email protected]. Remember that after you RSVP, you’ve still got until Wednesday at 5:00 PM to submit pages.
· Writers, you may bring pages to three consecutive Scene Nights. Then we’ll ask you to sit the next one out, to give others a turn. Remember that you’re always welcome as an audience member & feedback giver, even when your pages aren’t being read!
